The Rt Hon Gisela Stuart and Lisa Nandy MP, both members of the Constitution Reform Group Steering Committee, will be participating in the “What kind of democracy: representative, direct, deliberative?” session at the ‘Brexit and the Constitution’ event with The UK in a Changing Europe at the British Academy on Monday 15 July 2019 between 2pm and 3.15pm.
The one-day event will be hosted by The UK in a Changing Europe in partnership with The Constitution Unit at UCL and the Hansard Society. The conference will bring together senior politicians, leading scholars, legal practitioners, policymakers and prominent journalists to create an accessible and influential set of debates and exchanges about how Brexit has and will continue to reshape different aspects of the British constitution.
The “What kind of democracy: representative, direct, deliberative?” session panel will be chaired by Lewis Goodall (Sky News). Alongside the Rt Hon Gisela Stuart and Lisa Nandy MP, other panellists will include Professor Meg Russell (UCL Constitution Unit) and Lord Norton (University of Hull).
